We Use Messmers Wood Sealer On All Our Homes
I have been asked over 100 times which deck sealer I choose to use on my customers houses. I tell them that I use Messmers wood sealer on all the log homes that we build. I have been in the log home building industry for over 20 years. It was a business that was handed down to me by my Father so I have always been around it. Once I began to run the business myself, I found a product called Messmers that quickly become a house hold name for wood protection. It has been around ever since and I have never stopped using it. Once we erect a log home for a customer, we will return sometime within a year or so to do a moisture check on the logs. Once they reach a certain moisture level, we know it is time to apply some sealer to the logs to protect them from the elements. We offer this service as part of the whole log home construction. Even though it is almost a year later since we built the home, we feel it is necessary to protect the home and to protect or quality of work. We will wash the logs and then return once they are dry to apply the Messmers sealer on them. After that it is up to the homeowner to do any maintenance or re-applying down the road. Normally that will be every 5 years or so, and we will still be in touch with them about using Messmers and not some other lesser product.
