Placing your pergola can be a little bit difficult, especially if you have a small yard and you want it to add good looks to your yard with its full potential. it all depends on what you are thinking and what catches your mind the most. Of course theses are in the backyard of your home. Front yards would draw too much attention.
Many of the most popular places to put a pergola are on patios. The reason a good pergola is used on a patio is mostly for looks. It does little to shade your eyes from the sun, but it gives grandeur to your patio and gives the finishing touch to make your patio complete.
A pergola is also used on the sides of pools, also a patio, but next to the pool. And it is for the same reasons, to add a very spectacular look to your pool by making it unique rather than ordinary. Other places to put it is in your garden. If you are one of those people who is fortunate to have a voluptuous garden, this is the perfect thing for an eloquent addition to the garden. If you have a small one, it will probably overwhelm the rest of it, so only grand gardens work in this case.
Another good idea, is if you just want to have an addition to your house, such as a porch, or an awning to add some style to your home, have a pergola added to the side of your home. Preferable next to your main doorway. That way, it will add some good looks to your home. Again, one thing though is that the pergola has slats instead of the full covering porches or gazebos have. But, it adds a lot of really good looks.
Other places, besides a backyard to use a pergola are at public parks, public gardens, public building backyards. The pergola is full of never ending uses.
