There are more garden centres now stocking artificial trees and plants than ever before. Although still a relatively small niche, some bricks and mortar garden centres have seen the potential in stocking artificial goods as opposed to real ones. Why? Because they know that people are looking for maintenance free home and garden solutions these days.

The rise of the convenience nation means that people are no longer willing, or indeed have the time to start with, to be out in the garden planting flowers etc. They want quick and easy solutions that are attractive yet maintenance free. Many garden centres are capitalizing on this niche and opening up stores up and down the country where they solely specialise in supplying artificial trees, plants and flowers. Some might say this is a very smart move.

Of course, there will always be those homeowners who prefer the manual labour of love with real trees, plants and flowers, but in truth it is only the homeowners with genuinely large gardens that wish to pursue this route of gardening, as the ‘all-natural’ garden foundations are already in place. One must also bear in mind that real plants and flowers can be expensive, which is why smaller gardens are benefiting from the beauty of artificial trees and flowers…plus a smaller hole in the wallet too.

If you head off to your local garden centre these days, it is important not to assume that you will only be able to pick up real plants and flowers. Nowadays, more people that decide to pay a visit to a garden centre are pleasantly surprised when they find their garden centre also stocks attractive and maintenance free artificial solutions.  The benefits of artificial trees and the like far outweigh the benefits of real plants, with everything from price to longevity.

If you have a quiet Sunday coming up and fancy a trip out, pay a visit to your local garden centre and see if you can spot any artificial trees, plants and flowers for sale.
