Emerging technologies make it practical to approach Teaching and learning in ways that have been advocated by scientists, theorists, and educational psychologists for years.  Advanced information technologies such as virtual reality, visualization, digital modeling, digitization, simulation, games, virtual worlds and intelligent one-on-one tutoring systems dramatically enhance teaching and learning of elusive concepts by translating abstractions into real-world contexts and providing customized instruction and individualized assessments.

To realize the full potential of this technology and to ensure its pervasiveness in all institutions of learning and training, we must undertake a long-term, large-scale effort to research, develop, test and disseminate tools for building advanced learning systems.

Pedagogy of learning through technology

Ever since the recession began, some of my friends have been dismissed from their jobs. And I know they’re into some distress. Worrying about cashflow, checking out on unemployment benefits furlough, going through trainings for a career upgrade, these are concerns that preoccupies most of the unemployed. Some go through major life changes like career shifts, and transfer to cities who are greener pastures, where unemployment benefits moving is taken into account. It takes a strong resolve and emotional control to be able to go through all these. If you’re just recently lost your job, you better prepare yourself. To cope from unemployment, first you have to compose yourself. It means not to be overwhelmed with depression or anxiety. Worrying is a rehearsal of what might go wrong, without figuring out a solution. So it’s important that you have to be solution-oriented and not dwell on negativity. Figure out what options you have and challenge the gloom of the idea that you will be financially broke for a long time by saying that you can do something about it. You have to be positive, and expect that things will go ok for you in the near future. That mindset prepares you to be attentive to possibilities and opportunities that are at your face which could have escaped you had you been pessimistic. After setting your attitude, work on the practicals. Figure out how you can have funds during your job hunt. Personal savings or unemployment benefits come in handy during this time. Figure out what would make you more attractive to your prospect employers. Use the available time that you have to work on and improve on your skills. That will increase your chances of being hired, because you’ll be able to answer questions that dig into mastery of skills. Finally believe in yourself. You can do it. In no time, you’ll be on your road to career success.
