I recently purchased a memory foam mattress pad for my husband. He’s been complaining of having backaches every morning when he wakes up. To tell you the truth, after he mentioned it, I realized that I too have been having backaches. I first suggested replacing our old mattress. Nothing wrong with it really, but we’ve had it for years and maybe it was time to change. The backaches were a good excuse as any. I remember after purchasing it, bedtime came around on our first night of using this memory foam mattress pad and we anxiously got into bed. As soon as we lay down, we were enveloped with a sense of comfort and relaxation. Truly amazing! Thanks goodness my mattress pad didn’t swallow us! The 3 lbs density was great and my mattress pad recovered from all the indentations that we made rather nicely. We went off to sleep dreaming about pillows and clouds.

Truth be told, the next morning, I still didn’t jump out of bed like the guy in the advertisements. However, I actually felt rested, completely! And for the first time in many, many years I felt like I could get up and tackle whatever challenge the world had for me that day. My back and limbs all felt great. No aches or muscle pains anywhere. My husband also agreed with me.

Now I find myself making any excuse to jump into bed, or to go to sleep earlier at night. The mattress pad has made my sleep so comfortable and enjoyable that I feel like I must get the memory foam mattress pads for my kids too!

I hope you are enjoying this baby comments blog on the life of little Katie.  I’m getting some very positive feedback, and it’s enjoyable to write about the events of her life as they develop and unfold.  She is such a happy baby it is a real pleasure to watch her grow up.Little Katie had a nice feed this morning and my wife was about to put her in bed when she “spit up everything”.  She let out a scream of “what in the world happened”.  She is resting in bed now…We took Katie to see the pediatrician this morning.  She weighed in at 8lbs 14oz, so the doctor is pleased with her progress.  For a new born baby of 2 weeks she is in the 75% range for weight and height.Next stop was to get her birth certificate.  She is now a documented USA Baby and has the documentation to prove it.  We got a couple of extra copies for future use as well.We had lunch at this fantastic little seafood restaurant (picture shown at the left).  This is the first time that little Katie joined us at a restaurant or other public place (although she has been to the pediatrician three times now), and she was a perfect guest.  She didn’t fuss or fume, didn’t cry or grumble…just let my wife and I enjoy our lunch.This evening my wife put Katie on the bed and I started to say “Hi Baby”.  She smiled at me.  My wife read that after a couple of weeks they will smile in response to a voice they recognize.  Very precious moment.It’s late evening now and little Katie is happily feeding again.  Her little nose is pressed so you can hear the breathing in and out as she nurses.  She sure seems to enjoy her dinner time…Oh oh…little Katie just spit up.  No bother, she’s “out like a light”.  The mess doesn’t bother her…it’s on her mom’s clothes, not hers… :)10:45pm – It’s late night now and little Katie just spit up again.  She doesn’t seem to be upset or anything, but hopefully my wife will have more milk when the baby cries for it.WHAT I LEARNED TODAY————————————1)  Babies respond to voices within a couple of weeks.
